One can reach Jawhar through Mumbai or via Kasara-Khodala way. 17 Km away from Jawhar, there is a village named as Zapp. 1Km before Zapp is a way to Chinchwadi which is merely 10 min away. Form here a half an hour walk takes you to the foothills of the fort. And then another half an hour takes you to the top of the fort.
Place To Stay / Eat
No accommodation facility. Though one can stay in the temple at Chinchwadi. Food neess to be arranged by trekker themselves. Water is not available on fort. There is a water tank on top of the fort wit h a little water, but this water is not potable. There is acute shortage of water in the area so it is advisable to carry enough water along.
Places Of Interest
You enter the fort through a devastated door. There are 2 doors, one is from north and one is from south but both of them are in very bad condition. Infact the whole fort is not in a good state. As you enter the fort you can see a Mahsoba’s statue along with a statue of Hanuman. Bhupatgad has a very large plateau. You can still see some of the fortification which is left.
Some ruined structures of palace can still be seen. Behind these ruined structures there are water tanks. You need nearly half an hour to see the entire fort. From Bhupatgad, areas like Tringalwadi, Harihar, Trambakeshwar, Jawhar, and Mokhada can be seen.
